“You son of a bitch!”

You tore at the Titan’s neck, using the last of your gas to fly into his nape. Blood evaporated off of your sticky skin, your blades broken inside of it’s skin. You broke them off and replaced them, sighing and throwing a fist into your gas tanks.

“What the heck was Erwin thinking? This plan was never going to work.”

You sighed and stared up at the sky, the clouds rolling along peacefully. Why couldn’t you be a cloud? You could just roll around aimlessly, cry every now and then, and be stared at in awe. You’d love to fly, especially away from all these crazy people.

“Where’s Hanji when I need her?”

Your horse returned to you, and you rode off towards the center. You fired off a red flare to signal the titans coming their way. You had strayed from the right flank, but you had to. The blonde lady titan was attacking all of the other troops, and you had to get away as fast as you could.

You needed to tell Hanji. If she knew, she could work with Erwin and Levi over the situation. You didn’t want your comrades to die in vain. A blue flare was fired close by, and two horses raced towards you. Your eyes widened, realization hitting you.

That was Jean and Armin’s horses.

You gasped and sat up on the couch, reaching for your chest. Your heartbeat quickened against your ribs. That was such a vivid dream…was this the same type of dream Armin had? Those…Titans right? They were so freakishly large and scary! You weren’t surprised at how strange the dream was, but it was just so vivid…and you wanted Hanji for some odd reason. Why were you using her first name though? Why weren’t you thinking of her as your mother? Why was she and Erwin so highly important too?

“Ah you're awake! Are you okay?”

Armin’s kind blue eyes laid on you, a slight smile gracing those perfect lips of his. He was in your dream too. You scanned his body before blushing and glancing away. That wasn't the first dream he was in that you had, but this was the first dream that had nothing to do with you having a romance with him. He had a horse, right? Why was his horse running away?

“Armin I had the strangest dream,” you groaned, somewhat controlling your scarlet cheeks, “A-And you were in it. Could you be so kind as to grab my Dream Dictionary from under my bed?”

He nodded quickly and ran up the stairs to get to your room. You sighed and sat there for a while, thinking about the thoughts that ran in your head. At this point things were a little fuzzy, but you'd be able to sort it out once you set your mind to it. Your heart raced at the thought of that Titan, the feeling of slicing open its neck foreign to your fragile hands. It was rather strange, yet rather pleasant. You stretched and sat up, folding the blanket you had temporarily used. Your nose picked up the smells of melted butter and fresh food coming from the kitchen. The inside of your mouth salivated. You loved food almost as much as you loved good literature.

Cool, intelligent blue eyes landed on you when you walked in, thick and beautiful eyebrows raised in a worried manner, “How are you doing (F/n)? Is your head feeling better?”

You smiled, “Yeah, the Ibuprofen helped a lot. Thanks so much for everything Erwin.”

He chuckled, “You keep Armin happy and you praise my average cooking. If anything I should be thanking you.”

“That is definitely not average cooking and you know it.”

He laughed heartily, “Well I’m flattered.”

You frowned slightly at the absence of your mother, “Is she working late again?”

Erwin nodded, stirring the contents in the skillet, “She said she was needed to further her studies on GMOs. They found a new type of cell and they wanted to further their studies. They couldn’t do it without her. She warned me and said she’d be home by around twelve later tonight.”

You sighed and shook your head, leaning against the counter. Your mother was a very busy worker and you understood that, but you did miss her. You wanted to speak to her about your dream as well.

Armin entered the kitchen and handed you the Dream Dictionary. You smiled and thanked him, skimming through the pages. His eyes sparkled when you landed on the section that spoke about reoccurring dreams and shared dreams. “May I ask what it was about?” he asked.

Your eyebrows scrunched together, remembering bits and pieces. “Well, it was about those large people you spoke about at the library. I killed one, and then I found you and some guy’s horse.”

You glanced at Erwin’s stiffened body. Did he have these dreams too? Was there something he and Hanji were hiding from you? “You were both in it,” you said, “You were some important leader Erwin, and I found Armin’s horse.”

Armin’s eyes widened, “In my dream I had lost my horse and I was being attacked by a large blonde lady with these two other guys. One of them was named Jean.”

You gasped, “I found his horse too! That’s who it was!”

“Alright kids that’s enough,” he said, taking out the plates, “Save spilling out your wild imaginations for later. I’m sure your mother would get a kick out of it (F/n).”

“I wanted to wait until she got home but I guess she won’t be here for a while…so I couldn’t help spilling the beans.”

Erwin smiled, “Well don’t spill these beans, I worked hard on them. They have a bit of a bite to them but they should be good.”

You took a spoonful of kidney beans and smiled, pondering over your thoughts as you ate.

Loud whistles pierced your ears, your horse running as fast as it could towards the loud noise. Three figures were seen under the trees. You could make out Armin in the distance, his head bandaged and his gaze tired. Your heart raced and your eyes couldn’t leave him. If he got hurt you were going to kill Jean and Reiner for not protecting him. You jumped off of your horse and kneeled down to stare in his eyes.

“Hey Armin are you okay? Are you hurt? Can you walk-“

“I’m okay (F/n) really,” he sighed with a smile, “It’s nothing really. I’m really happy to see you.”

You broke out in tears and wrapped your arms around his small form, “I-I can’t believe I couldn’t protect you. I’m supposed to always be there for you!”

You bawled in his chest. You felt like a horrible person for moving away from the flank. He was supposed to be near you at all times and when he needed you most you weren’t there. You were useless. You weren’t strong at all. Your heart burned with sadness and disappointment. If Mikasa could protect Eren why couldn’t you protect Armin? She ranked number one, yet you were ranked below Ymir. Twelfth wasn’t a rank to be proud of, yet Armin idolized you for it.

“(F/n) I’m really okay I promise,” he chuckled, rubbing your back.

“I-If you died….I-If you were eaten by that damn bitch…..”

You tightened your hold around him, “I couldn’t live without you.”

You sat up in bed and grabbed for your notebook, your heart pounding as you wrote down the names and events in your head. You could probably do a collaboration with Armin on this story for writing club since you both had this dream. This one you blushed over though, since you were hugging Armin so intimately and lovingly…it was different from the usual hugs you gave him.

Did he ever have dreams of this too? Did he have feelings for you as well?

It was all wishful thinking, and it was just a dream.

You rested your head back onto the soft pillow, falling back into a deep sleep.
Here is part 2. Finally the main idea is out in the open. What do these dreams mean? Why is modern reader and Armin dreaming about Titans? Well.....Might as well read part 3 for that! MWAHAHAHA

I don't own Attack on titan btw...just letting you know....
